Wool care

Material 02

Wool

Wool naturally resists odour and usually needs airing more often than washing. Heat, agitation and sudden temperature changes can felt or shrink the fibre.

i

The care label comes first

Construction, dye, trims and lining can change how a fabric should be cleaned. If the label is more restrictive than this guide, always follow the label.

The routine

01 · Wash

Limit movement

Use a wool-specific detergent and cold water. Never rub, wring or leave the piece soaking; those actions encourage felting.

02 · Dry

Support the full garment

Press out water in a clean towel, reshape to its original measurements and dry flat away from radiators and direct sun.

03 · Finish

Steam without pressure

Use low heat through a pressing cloth. Lift the iron rather than dragging it so the knit keeps its loft and shape.

Garments prepared for considered storage

Between seasons

Keep it at its best.

Fold rather than hang. Remove surface pills gently with a cashmere comb and store clean with cedar or lavender nearby—not touching the garment.
